A New Beginning

Hi there!!

Much time has passed since I have been active on here. This is because much has changed. The short version of the story is that I've spent much of this year doing a lot of soul-searching, and I'm finally ready to come back to music. However, we all know that I've never been the "short, vague story" type of person. As a songwriter, telling stories is one of my favorite things to do. For that reason, this little update is not ending here. In fact, it's only beggining.

I'd like to start by saying that my last real activity as an artist (aside from occasionally getting in a groove with uploading regular YouTube videos) was the release of my latest single in December 2014.This release immediately followed my first semester of college. At the beginning of my second semester, everything began to change for me. After a string of very scary medical events, I realized something that came to me as quite a surprise: my aspirations were shifting. Although my love for music is one that will always be at the core of my being, I discovered that a new dream had developed. On top of my fundamental musical goals, I now had a dream of becoming a music teacher. And I simply had to follow it.

Shifting paths is a daunting task for anybody. I quickly realized that the next few years would require hitting the books far more than the stage. I realized that this new dream would drastically affect the way I work as an artist (although it would never replace my musical aspirations of course). Again, I am NOT throwing in the musical towel. I just need to live a different type of musical life; to pursue my dreams in a new way.

Finding this lifestyle - the balance between two passions - took most of 2015. I spent months and months experimenting with YouTube schedules (hence the sporatic uploading routine), writing new songs, further honing my voice and instruments, and of course, growing as a person. It's been a long road, and it's far from over, but I'm happy to report that I'm finally ready to return to my first love. With a new website launch, new videos being released each Wednesday (starting September 23rd), and a gig booked for October 25th (more information to follow), I'm back and better than ever before.

So in closing, I just want to thank you all for your patience during this crazy time. I have discovered so much about myself throughout this process, and I can't wait to share it all with you through new music, new videos, and everything else the future may bring.

The ability to pursue the things you are passionate about is undeniably a gift, but the ability to do so with such amazing support from such incredible people is the best gift of all.
